Kerstin presented at the yearly meeting of the Swedish Society for Flowcytometry

The yearly meeting of the Swedish Society for Flowcytometry (svensk förening för flödescytometriskt) was held in Umeå this year. The meeting spanned two days with cutting edge science and enlightening talks. Naturally, there was a strong focus on immunology-related topics. Nevertheless, the organizers also made a point to invite users from other fields, thus illustrating that flow cytometry is a versatile technique that can be useful in many contexts within life sciences. Marta was one of them. In our group, we are using flow cytometry in various projects as a complementary tool. For example to measure protein expression and transduction efficiency, and for titer calculations. Luckily for us, the University’s flow cytometry platform is located at our institute, and we are super grateful for the support we are getting from experts in this technique.

Marta gave Kerstin the opportunity to represent the Bally lab, and virology-related research, at the meeting. In a clear oral presentation, Kerstin talked about her research and gave an overview on how we use flow cytometry to improve viral pseudotype production. Overall, the meeting was very well organized, and it was impressive to see how the field is developing and how flow cytometry contributes to answering various research questions.
