TRC day October 20, 2022
On October 20, we attended the first ‘Translational Research Centre (TRC) Day’ since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, which took place in the ‘Betula’ lecture hall of our 6M building. This day was also a celebration of the 20th anniversary of 6M. The TRC ensures close connection between clinical practice and research through direct physical connection to Umeå University Hospital.
We are proud to be part of this infrastructure, which is reflected by our contributions to this day: Marta chaired the session on neurodegenerative diseases and inflammation, infection and systemic diseases and Chloé and Dario were selected to present their research during short plenary talks. The rest of us presented posters along with other junior researchers in the TRC. It was an inspiring day, during which we learned a lot about other interesting research being carried out in the TRC. This included, among other. We had an excellent chance to connect with clinical researchers, who largely provide the basis for our projects, during fika breaks and lunch. Finally, the participants got an overview of the state-of-the-art facilities and instruments present at the different departments in the 6M building. This sharing of devices and multidisciplinary expertise will for sure benefit everyone’s experiments for many years to come!
