After a long winter the temperatures are finally rising and the summer arrived in Umeå. We directly used this nice weather to have a group barbecue at Marta’s place. Everyone brought homemade side dishes/desserts and Marta and Hudson provided everything to make delicious skewers. The barbecue was accompanied with fresh drinks and a nice view. Afterwards the Mölkky competition started. Mölkky is an outdoor (leisure) game with 12 numbered wooden blocks placed on the ground. Another wooden block is then thrown in the hope to hit some of the numbered blocks and make points. Lifeng turned out to be very skilled by winning two games in a row but was then defeated by Yara, now the reigning Mölkky champion 🙂
Some of us had an unexpected surprise in the evening: an elk was passing by, saying good night. Things you can just enjoy working in Scandinavia 😀
